Cannabinoids Guide

Cannabinoids, as you probably know, are those compounds that all work together to help with the endocannabinoid system. This is important for regulating the homeostasis that is out there, and also helps with boosting immunity within all of this. Some of them include:

  • Endocannabinoids within the body

  • Phyto cannabinoids from the cannabis and other plants

  • Synthetic cannabinoids that are in the laboratory.

Right now, there are over 100 different Phyto cannabinoids, but here, we’ll go over some of the different ones too.

The Major cannabinoids

Basically, you’ve got two major types of cannabinoids in the plant: major, and minor. Major are ones that have a lot of key effects and are responsible for making sure that you get the effects in the body. Minor, occur in smaller quantities and may not have a profound effect, but they’re still worth mentioning because they can be helpful for various things. Below, we’ll go over some of the major cannabinoids in the body.

THC

We all know THC as the one that gets you high. It is the indicating type of chemical in this, but also helps with inflammatory responses, pain, and vomiting and use.

CBD

We know CBD because this is considered the “non-psychoactive” cannabinoid that’s there. this is one that’s become super popular, because it isn’t intoxicating, is legal, and it can help with pain, anxiety, and even seizures, depending on the dosage of this.

CBG

This is another one that's prevalent and is one that’s starting to become more popular.

This is one that’s produced very early on and is considered a predecessor to the other cannabinoids that are out there.

It can help with the following Things.

  • Inflammation and analgesic instances

  • Anti-bacterial

  • Inflammatory bowel disease regulator

  • Regulates the appetite

  • Is antiproliferative

This is one that’s still being studied, so we don’t know a ton about it, but it is quite good for you.

CBN

This is one that comes from THC, and it’s one that can be in very low concentrations naturally in the plant. However, as the cannabis plant ages, and as the weed ages, it gets exposed to oxygen, light, and heat.  This is one that’s not as potent compared to THC.

Some studies have found that this can be good for sleep and is used to treat this.

THC-V

This is one that’s also quite similar to THC, and it’s one that we don't know a ton about yet. It may be something used to treat metabolic syndrome, obesity, and diabetes

Cannabichromene (CBC)

This is one that's very rare in the flowering cycle of a plant, being both antibiotic along with antifungal, and this is something that protects the plant during early stages.

It may help with the following:

  • Inflammation and pain

  • Acne

  • Depression

  • Bacterial infections

  • Fungi

  • Toxicity to different elements

What’s the best cannabinoid for you?

This is ultimately dependent on the needs that you have. If you want a lot of pain relief, you may want to go for THC. For those looking to get treatment for seizures, then you may want to consider SBD. If you struggle with sleep for example, you may want to get something that contains CBN within it.

Overall, each of these compounds are still being studied, and there is a lot that we don’t know about this. If you’ve ever been curious about which cannabinoid to use, you’re not alone, and here, we went over some of the most popular ones, what they are, and the current research present on what they do too.
